This started as a place to share my training for my 1st 70.3 Ironman. It then became a place I shared my struggles with my weight and fighting Type 2 diabetes. Over 5 years ago it became a blog sharing my journey as a post bariatric surgery athlete. Since 2016 I have completed 4 full marathons, three 70.3 distances, and my first Ironman Lake Placid. Now I am back to share my training for my 2nd Ironman, my struggles with low iron levels and my continued fight with my weight.

Syracuse, NY is listed 6th!!
I am very proud of the fact that Syracuse, NY is listed 6th on a list of the "10 Best Triathlon Cities in the US"!! Active.com published an article listing Syracuse 6th along with locations such as San Diego, Boulder, Tucson and San Francisco. If you compare Syracuse to some of the cities listed we are much smaller by size and population and geographically we are an area that often has winter 9 months of the year! However, we overcame those facts and we are now standing TALL!! Syracuse, NY offers great areas to train, a fabulous triathlon club and a large number of triathlons to complete! I may be biased but I am going to shout this from the mountain tops! I am proud to be a triathlete in Syracuse!!
